As Indiana continues to receive new challenges from state and federal legislature in regards to graduation rates, educators across Indiana are mandated to generate new and innovative ways to increase college access and completion. This year’s theme focuses on success through the pipeline of secondary and post-secondary education. Through the combination of a powerful keynote address and concurrent sessions, this year’s summit aims to address four major “leaks” in the current Indiana education system that impact the success of our students.
These four “leaks” include:
Financial planning for college
Academic preparation and persistence
Communication with families and community
While these four “leaks” are by no means an exhaustive list of issues affecting college-bound students, we hope to gather a diverse audience of faculty, administrators from high schools and colleges, and representatives from community organizations to encourage a thoughtful discussion about how we can work together to better support our students as they journey to and through college.
